H Dupont Anti-spread – Waterbased

This water-based anti-spread allows you to paint with H Dupont Classique dyes as you would paint a canvas using  watercolour technique.

Treat your silk before painting by applying a thin, even coat of anti-spread to the surface to prevent the dye spreading.  The silk becomes stiff and paper-like so you can paint freely without needing gutta.  The anti-spread can also be used on small sections of the silk.

Available in 100 ml and 250 ml bottles.

How to use H Dupont water-based anti-spread

• Apply the anti-spread with a large brush or sponge on the entire surface to be painted.
• Before painting, allow to dry well.  To speed up the drying process, use a hairdryer.
• The anti-spread does not change the colour of you silk.
• Paint your design
• Fix your silk dyes by steaming then wash out the anti-spread with warm water.  Silk will regain its soft handle after washing.

This product should not be applied to an already painted silk!  It is only used on a background without colour.
