Silk Noil

Silk Noil has a beautiful nubby texture, matte surface and soft drape.   It’s made from the same fibroin as traditional silk but uses the shorter waste fibres from the production of higher quality silks.

It has the thicker feel of a cotton fabric, but it definitely retains the some of the wonderful drape of silk.  Although Silk Noil does not have the strength of other silk fabrics it is stronger than cotton, and is still a durable fabric that can be used for garments.  It is very easy to handle and does not crease easily.  It is also one of the more easily dyed natural fibres.

Uses:  Great for all kinds of garments including long dresses and skirts, blouses and slacks.  Also very popular for embroidery and soft furnishings.
