Aluminium Sulphate
Aluminium Sulphate – mordant and dye modifier
Aluminium Sulphate is used in natural dyeing as a mordant and pH modifier for wool, silk, and plant-based fibres, such as cotton and linen. This gentle yet effective compound helps dyes bond securely to the fabric, enhancing both brightness and durability without altering the natural texture of your material.
It helps improve dye uptake and can influence brightness and clarity of colour depending on the dye used.
It is sometimes used as an alternative aluminium source in dye baths where a more direct mordanting process is preferred.
Aluminium Sulphate is suitable for immersion dyeing and general natural dye applications.
