Discharge Powder ZFS – colour removal agent for textile printing
Discharge Powder ZFS is used in textile printing to remove or “discharge” existing colour from dyed fabrics. It works by breaking down certain dyes in a controlled print process, creating lighter areas or clean, colour-free designs on previously dyed cloth.
It is commonly used in screen printing and hand application techniques to create contrast, layered effects, or to print lighter designs onto dark fabrics. Results will vary depending on the type of dye originally used and the fabric content.
Discharge printing is most effective on cellulose fibres such as cotton and linen. It can also be used on silk, but results are generally more subtle and less predictable. On silk, discharge tends to produce tonal shifts and partial lightening rather than a full white discharge, and outcomes will depend heavily on the dye type and shade depth.
