H. Dupont Water-Based Metallic Gutta – decorative resist for silk painting
H. Dupont Water-Based Metallic Gutta is a resist medium used in silk painting to create raised, decorative outline lines with a metallic finish. It forms a barrier on silk that prevents dyes from spreading, while also adding a subtle gold or metallic effect to the final design.
It is used to define shapes, borders and fine details, working in the same way as standard gutta but with an added decorative surface finish. This makes it suitable for both structural outlining and visible design elements within the finished piece.
Once dry, dyes are applied within or around the resist areas. After fixing and washing, the gutta remains as a metallic decorative line.

Usage guide
Apply directly to dry silk using an applicator bottle or an applicator with stycone and allow to dry fully before painting.
You can use a hair dryer to dry this gutta before painting.
To heat fix the gutta, dry iron (not steam) the silk on the wrong side for 2 to 3 minutes before steam-fixing the silk dye.
