Gutta works by forming a barrier on the silk, preventing dyes from spreading beyond your lines. This allows you to separate colours cleanly, maintain detail, and achieve professional, polished results in your work.

This water-based gutta is ready to use straight from the bottle, making it ideal for both beginners and experienced silk artists.

For fine, controlled lines, simply attach a screw-on nib to the spout and draw directly onto your silk.

Once dry, the gutta is heat set to secure your design before fixing your dyes.

How to Use

  • Apply directly to silk to outline your design
  • Allow to dry completely
  • Iron on the reverse side (no steam) for 2–3 minutes to heat set
  • Proceed with steam fixing your dyes as usual
