H Dupont Anti-Fusant
Anti-Spread / No-Flow Primer for Silk Painting
Overview
H Dupont Anti-Fusant is a water-based primer that waterproofs silk by filling the spaces in the weave. This prevents colours from spreading, so you can paint freely without gutta. Ideal for paintings, lampshades, and detailed silk projects, it works with:
- H Dupont Classique & Alter Ego dyes (steam-fix)
- Arasilk paints (heat-fix)
Note: Colours will appear slightly softer after fixing. The back side will be lighter than the front, and the silk will feel a little stiffer even after washing.
How to Use
1. Prepare your silk – start with clean, unpainted silk.
2. Apply Anti-Fusant – use a large brush or foam brush to coat the fabric evenly.
3. Dry completely – ensure the silk is fully dry before painting.
4. Paint directly – freehand onto the treated silk. Avoid overloading brushes with colour.
5. Fix the colours – steam fix for dyes or heat fix for paints.
