OSAGE ORANGE is from wood chips, shavings or sawdust from the Maclura Pomifera tree and gives similar dyeing results to Fustic.

Dye colour

Yields clear bright yellows, soft yellows, green yellows and mossy greens.

Mordants

For protein fibres – use alum mordant at 15% WOF.
For cellulose fibres – use tannin at 8% WOF. Use alum at 15% WOF or aluminium acetate at 8% WOF.
