Silk painting cards

These silk painting cards allow you to practice silk painting using Arasilk Silk Paint. The designs are made with H Dupont pale gold water-based gutta. The silk paint will only spread within the gutta outlines. The silk used is Habutai 8mm.

Each kit contains 5 silk designs 10 x 15 cm, 5 cards and 5 envelopes.

How to use Arasilk Silk Painting Cards

Select the Arasilk colours you are going to paint with.

Apply the colour to the silk design quickly enough to prevent some parts from starting to dry out.  You don’t need to go all the way to the edge as the paint will go on its own.

When you are done, allow to air dry. Once it’s dry to the touch, set everything with an iron or in the oven.

• Iron the silk design inside out without steam for 5 minutes (or using a piece of fabric between the iron and the paint), or
• Bake the silk design in the oven at 130C for 5 to 10 minutes.

When the silk has cooled, glue the design to the front of the card.
